Port Moresby: Remington has shown its support to the PNG National Women’s Football Team by presenting a cheque of seven thousand six hundred and ninety kina to purchase football boots for all players and officials in the team. Remington is a 100% PNG-owned and equal-opportunity employer and encourages women to be bold, demonstrating its commitment to advancing female athletes and fostering women’s leadership in PNG.
In the lead-up to this presentation a member of the Remington Group of Companies’ Top Team, Colleen McNamara, was recently appointed as Team Manager for the PNG Women’s National Football Team by the PNG Football Association; a milestone achievement both for Colleen and the Remington Group of Companies.
As a measure of the Group’s support for her appointment, apart from being given enough time and benefits to fulfill her duties to the national team, a cheque worth more than seven thousand was presented on Thursday 26th October, 2023, to cover the cost of new football boots for the team.
Ms. McNamara said she is very grateful for the support she continuously receives from her employer, and even more so since her appointment as the National Team Manager.
Colleen said, “To our generous owner, Hon. Peter O’Neill, to the CEO of Remington Group of Companies and our staff, your support will play a key role in the team’s preparation for the upcoming Pacific Games in Honiara, Solomon Islands. Thank you for sponsoring the National Women’s Soccer Team by purchasing new soccer boots for all players and officials. We are so grateful to have you as part of our team”.
The Remington Group of Companies is completely focused on preparing Papua New Guineans for senior leadership roles. Every day, we encourage, coach, and support our people along their various life journeys – both at work and at home, in their personal lives.
Remington Group CEO, Peter Goodwin said, “We are extremely proud of Colleen’s achievement and the role she plays in the team. Colleen is a member of the Remington Group Top Team and has been an integral part of our Remington family for 18 years. We will continue to support her and the PNG ladies team that will represent our country in Honiara, Solomon Islands at the 2023 South Pacific Games”.
We wish the team all the best in their preparations leading up to the Pacific Games and full support and prayers are with Colleen and the team.
