Peter Goodwin joined the Remington Group in 2015 as General Manager Corporate Affairs and has refreshed our Group’s approach to doing business in such a way as to truly embrace the digital era.
In September 2016, Peter was promoted to the role of Group Chief Executive Officer and since then, has led firmly from the front with a hands-on, “Can-Do” approach. He has personally steered the development of the Group’s digital strategy and strengthened the quality of our core business operations by breaking down silos and developing our Group Shared Services model.
Peter has spent 18 years in PNG over four assignments, first coming to our shores in 1983. He is capable in Tok Pisin and loves the Motu language. Peter is a Champion of gender balance and career development for Papua New Guineans and during his tenure, several PNG women have been promoted into senior leadership roles with the Group.
Our CEO holds a Master of Business Administration and Graduate Diploma in Management from the Australian Institute of Business, a Post Graduate Certificate in Business from University of Southern Queensland, a Certificate of Superannuation Management from Macquarie University and has been a Senior Associate of FINSIA since 2004.
Peter has over 46 years of business experience, 25 years of which has been spent at the general management and executive leadership levels, spanning several industries. His diverse career has included roles as Managing Director, Country Manager of banks in three countries, senior corporate foreign exchange dealer with a ‘World Top 10’ bank in Sydney and Manager Corporate Superannuation in Queensland, Australia.
Christopher Membung brings over nine years of diverse Human Resource experience in Papua New Guinea, showcasing his expertise in formulating strategies for organizational sustainability. He commenced his journey at Remington Group in 2022 as a Senior Human Resource Officer, benefiting from the Group's career development pathway. His dedication and skills led to his appointment as the Group Human Resource Manager in October 2023. Christopher excels in Project Management, Strategic Planning, Business Process Improvement, Employee Relations, and Recruitment. In his current role, he oversees daily HR operations and supports the Group in executing vital HR initiatives, including GDP/Apprenticeship programs, Succession Planning, Performance Management, and the alignment of the Corporate Remuneration Strategy with Haye Evaluation and PNG Job Classification standards.
Sanjay brings 15 years wealth of experience in Finance and Accounting. His extensive experience of working as a Registered Accountant and in various management levels in companies dotted across the Pacific has led to implementing the Group’s accounting and Internal Audit. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Financial Management and Economics and a member of CPA Australia, CPA PNG and Fiji Institute of Accountants. His invaluable contribution to mitigating risk at all levels, forming strategy, business plans, and budgets in his capacity in making financial decisions for the Company.
A techie by heart, Asanka believes that IT is a key enabler in unlocking business opportunities delivering bottom-line impact for all Business Units within the Group. His passion has enabled him to implement new and innovative solutions for the company while managing a highly secured and reliable IT operation with the help of a dynamic team of trained specialists.
When he joined the Group in 2019, his goal was to create and drive key service delivery mechanisms fitting to the Groups ICT and Digital space which he continues to manage throughout the Groups Business Units.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science (MSc) from Stafford University, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in IT from Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology.
He is a Professional member of British Computer Society (BCS), Professional Member of Australian Computer Society (ACS), Member of Sri Lanka Computer Society (MCSSL) and the Fellow member of Papua New Guinea Computer Society (PNGCS). He is also a Charted IT Professional (CITP) of British Computer Society, United Kingdom and is a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
Prior to his appointment with Remington, Asanka has worked in the United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, and Papua New Guinea as a senior IT Professional.
Esther manages the overall Marketing aspect of The Remington Group and its business units. A proactive senior manager, she has over ten years of management experience across the media and entertainment industry. Esther holds a Bachelor of Management Degree specialising in Marketing and Digital Business from the University of Waikato. Her proficiency in project management, administrative functions, marketing strategies and overseeing key improvements in business development have seen the marketing department thrive under her leadership.
Erica M’Gwasawa is Remington Group’s very own-grown talent. She has been with the group for nine years, in our Logistics Department.
From her humble beginnings as a receptionist with Lae Everclean Ltd, Erica Mugwasawa joined Remington Group as a Logistics Assistant in 2014 and worked her way up the corporate ladder through our career development pathway that is in place.
In 2023, Erica was promoted to Group Manager Logistics, after years of being trained and mentored by her predecessors, she has proven to be a responsive professional and a key player in a fast paced working environment. Erica’s professional journey is a testament of determination and consistent effort.
Collen joined Remington in 2005 and has held roles as the Attaché Support/Consultant, Administration Manager, Finance & Administration Manager, Manager Operations & Administration at our Lae Distribution Centre and Group Logistics Manager. She holds an Associate Diploma in Accounting from the International Training Institute and is an Accounting Technician with CPA. Colleen’s diligence and commitment to the Group have seen her contribute to the growth of the Business. As the Group Manager-Customer Service, she now leads and develops the customer service team capable of delivering high-quality service and performance to all client requirements.
