The Remington Group is on the lookout for a Senior Systems Engineer to be based at our Head Office in Port Moresby. This role supports our Group Shared Services ICT Department and is crucial in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our enterprise systems and infrastructure.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group IT Manager, the Senior Systems Engineer will play a key role in maintaining and optimising internal systems and network infrastructure. You’ll support enterprise technology operations, lead escalated issue resolution, and mentor other engineers, helping to drive innovation, stability, and service excellence across the Group.

Note: This position offers a competitive remuneration package. However, relocation assistance is not provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical services across internal systems, cloud, and network infrastructure.
• Manage Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, and Active Directory.
• Administer Hyper-V virtualization and clustering technologies.
• Support remote access solutions including VPN, RDS, and Terminal Services.
• Monitor system health using remote management tools and respond to alerts and incidents.
• Perform regular network assessments and security audits.
• Collaborate on projects, product evaluations, and process improvements.
• Document system configurations and maintain up-to-date infrastructure records.
• Deliver exceptional communication with internal users and provide coaching to junior IT staff.

What We’re Looking For

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 7+ years’ experience in systems engineering, cloud, and network infrastructure roles.
• Proven experience with the following (or similar) technologies:
  • HPE MSA SAN Storage & ProLiant Servers
  • VEEAM Backup & Disaster Recovery solutions
  • Hyper-V Clustering, Failover, V-Motion
  • Windows Server, DNS, DHCP, GPO, RDS, WDS
  • Exchange Server 2019 (on-prem) & Office 365
  • SQL Server installation & administration
  • Cloud Endpoint & Security Management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• A clean employment record and willingness to travel when required.
